Wood Based Products
The NVLAP program for Wood Based Products (WBP) provides for laboratory accreditation to assure that standard test procedures for chemical, physical, mechanical, fire performance, formaldehyde, and treated-wood characteristics are followed when testing wood based products. The WBP program uses standard test methods from the American Institute of Timber Construction (AITC), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), American Plywood Association (APA), American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), American Wood Preservers' Association (AWPA), Canadian Standards Association (CSA), European Committee for Standardization (CEN), Hardwood Plywood and Veneer Association (HPVA), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and the National Particleboard Association (NPA).
The test methods for which a laboratory may seek accreditation are listed in NIST Handbook 150-9.
