The Inter-American Metrology System (SIM)

SIM is the Regional Metrology Organization for the Americas. The U.S. participates in SIM to promote and support an integrated measurement infrastructure in the Americas to ensure equity in the marketplace, improve the quality of life and facilitate international trade. The ILMG's activities focuses on SIM's Legal Metrology Working Groups on Laws and Regulations and the Metrological Control of Measuring Instruments and Prepackaged Products. The objective of these groups is the harmonization of legal metrology requirements and activities in the Americas using OIML Recommendations. To learn more go to SIM .
