Suggested Discussion Questions for the Public Comment Session

1. Do you agree (or disagree) that the FPLA should be amended to give manufacturers/packagers the option of providing metric only labeling?

2. Can you tell us of any other justifications that we missed?

What justifications are weak and why?

Are there other justifications that we missed?

3. If you don't agree, can you tell us why the justifications the speakers gave in support of the change are wrong?

What are we missing?

4. If there are a number of manufacturers of a specific consumer product and one decides to provide packages with only metric units would the fact that all of the other packages have metric units that can be used to make value comparisons lessen your concern about the ability of consumers to make value comparisons?

Do you foresee any problems with this situation?

5. How can we better prepare or assist manufacturers and retailers in providing packages with only metric labeling?
