Joined BABT 1989

Hilton develops and maintains all the Certification Schemes operated by BABT including the R&TTE, EMC Directive and US CAB/NB activities. He represents BABT on a number of Technical and regulatory committees including UK R&TTE Notified Bodies Group (of which he is Secretary), R&TTE-CA, ECACB (EMC Competent body group), NICC Board, and U.S. TCB Council. He also is responsible for monitoring developments at TCAM, ETSI, and tracking progress on the new EMC Directive. He is a qualified test laboratory Auditor (using ISO/IEC 17025) and has been used by UKAS, as well as two other administrations.

Previous to working for BABT he worked as a software and systems specialist for a PABX manufacturer, as a Software programmer for an international Telecommunications telephone Exchange manufacturer, and as a Lecturer in Programming at the BT Data Processing Training College.
